For this second stage, the mushers of La Grande Odyssée Savoie Mont Blanc stayed in the Giffre Mountains at Praz de Lys Sommand, a stage presented by Zolux.

In an idyllic setting, snowy fir trees, powdery snow and under a beautiful sun, the mushers of the Open and Limited categories as well as those of the Flexadin Trophy set off on a 37km course with 900m of positive difference in altitude.

The two winners of the first stage were once again on the first step of the podium. Indeed, in the Open category, it is the French Rémy Coste who won the race in 1:46:00, followed by two Germans, Heinrich Winter who finished with a time of 1:47:04, followed by Sylvia Ulrich in 1:54:23. The competition promises to be very close. In the Limited category, it is once again Cindy Duport (FR) who takes the lead by finishing her race in 2:02:14. Aurélie Delattre (FR) achieved a time of 2:05:16 followed by Christian Perlwitz (FR) who completed the course in 2:17:01, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively. For the Flexadin Trophy, Christian Moser (CH) confirmed his first place with a time of 2:48:49.

The new generation was also present thanks to our young mushers, 18 teams at the start. Our young Savoyards competed on a 4km distance under the watchful eye of Frédéric Borgey, the President of the French Federation of Sled Sports who opened the race. The victory goes to Clara Codeghini.

See you on Tuesday, January 11 for the third stage in Les Gets presented by the Caisse d’Epargne Rhône-Alpes, which will close the last stage of the Flexadin Trophy.
